Memphis | New Orleans

I am a visual artist from Memphis, Tennessee, currently living and working in New Orleans, Louisiana. I study painting and communications at Tulane University of Louisiana.

Much of my art pertains to the experience of living in a post-truth 21st century America. With a keen interest in history and politics, I try to make art that sheds light on the good, the bad, and the ugly of this unique nation.

America is a land of contradictions, of hope and broken promises. With my art I aim to understand the 'American Identity,' that elusive set of shared values and magical beliefs that does as much to bring us together as it does to wedge us apart. The face of our culture today is shaped by the history of this land, but when myth takes the place of history, memory turns to nostalgia, and who among us is left to look forward and not back?

My art deals with themes of violence as it relates to history, popular culture, and American Identity itself. Currently, I am interested in the mythology of the Wild West, the harmony between vice and virtue that embodies the American spirit to this day.
